How it works

From the filing to a cited answer

Clarifo collects the reports companies publish, puts their figures into one consistent format and indexes the text page by page.

When you ask a question, the answer is built from that material, and every figure links to the report page it came from.

Process

Four steps

Step 1

The companies' own reports

The material comes straight from the companies and regulators, in its original language.

  • US: SEC EDGAR filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, 20-F)
  • Finland and Sweden: ESEF annual reports, interim reports and stock exchange releases
  • New reports are added as companies publish them
Step 2

Figures in one consistent format

Financial statement figures are taken from the reports' structured data (XBRL and ESEF) into one data model.

  • Income statement, balance sheet and cash flow in the same shape for every company
  • Key metrics are calculated deterministically, not by a language model
  • US and Nordic companies directly comparable
Step 3

Text searchable page by page

Report text is indexed at page level, so every finding can be traced to a specific place.

  • Search understands what you mean, not just the keywords
  • Finnish, Swedish and English reports from a single question
  • Every hit knows the company, year and page number
Step 4

An answer with citations

Search, chat and analyses build the answer from the figures and the report text.

  • Every figure links to the report page
  • Save results to a workspace, export them as a report or turn them into a Visual Story

Principles

What you can rely on

Evidence before summary

An answer is only as good as its source, so the source is always shown next to the answer.

  • Check any figure by opening the report page
  • No figures without a source

The same data everywhere

The web platform, MCP and the Data API use the same data, so the figures match whichever channel you use.

  • The web platform at clarifo.com
  • ChatGPT and Claude through MCP
  • The Data API for your own applications

Research, not investment advice

Clarifo provides financial data, company reports and research tools. It does not give buy, sell or hold recommendations.

Read-only access

The MCP server only reads data. It cannot create, change or delete anything in your workspaces.
