Net income grew far faster than sales on a slim organic base

Net sales were SEK 311.5 million (301.3), up 3.4%, but only 2.1% in local currencies 2. The CEO said organic growth was lower than in recent quarters, mainly because of order delays in the Americas 4. Operating result (EBIT) rose 9.7% to SEK 37.8 million (34.5), while net income rose 22.4% to SEK 24.46 million, lifting net margin to 7.9% from 6.6% a year earlier 210.

Net income outgrew EBIT partly because net financial items improved to SEK -3.8 million (-5.1) on lower interest expenses 5. The share count was unchanged, so EPS rose in line, to SEK 2.16 (1.76) 10.

The margin gain came from central costs, not from the business areas

Group EBITDA margin rose to 16.6% (16.0), but Industrial slipped to 16.4% (17.1) and Commercial Kitchen to 18.3% (19.7) 5. The report says the group margin was helped by lower group-wide costs 5. Group functions' operating result was SEK -2.8 million against SEK -5.9 million a year earlier 19.

Industrial profitability was burdened by sales-related costs of launching new oil mist, oil smoke and dust products. Commercial Kitchen's lower margin was largely product mix, though it improved sequentially 6. My reading is that the group margin gain depends on central cost savings rather than segment profitability.

Growth is concentrated in EMEA while the Americas and APAC fell

Industrial sales in EMEA rose 18.6% to SEK 137.3 million (115.7), with strong growth in the UK and Switzerland 6. Americas Industrial sales fell 4.9% because a few large shipments were postponed amid trade tensions between Canada and the U.S 6.. APAC fell 15.0% against a year earlier that included the largest single orders Filtermist had delivered to an APAC customer 6.

Commercial Kitchen sales fell 2.4% to SEK 58.2 million (59.6) 5. The report cites a wait-and-see attitude among customers in several Nordic markets and weak QSR segments, while the Netherlands grew 6.

Operating cash flow and leverage improved, and Canada is being restructured

Cash flow from operating activities was SEK 40.2 million (37.2) against net income of SEK 24.5 million (20.0) 5. The report attributes the improvement mainly to the higher operating result 5. Net debt fell to SEK 130.8 million (218.9) and the equity ratio rose to 58.5% (57.5) 5.

After the quarter, management started restructuring in its Canadian operations, which it expects to support a gradual improvement in profitability during 2027 4.

What to watch next

  • Whether the postponed Americas shipments convert to sales, and whether Canada restructuring delivers the gradual 2027 profitability improvement management expects 46.

  • Whether Industrial margins recover while product-launch costs weigh, given 16.4% against 17.1% a year earlier 5.

  • Whether Commercial Kitchen keeps improving sequentially while Nordic and QSR markets stay weak 6.

The report does not give cost of the Canadian restructuring or full-year financial outlook or targets.
