Financial research in Claude becomes more useful when the AI can retrieve actual company filings and financial data instead of relying on its training data. With the Clarifo Claude Connector, you can bring Nordic and US company financials, public filings and peer comparisons directly into your Claude conversations.
We built Clarifo MCP for this purpose: to connect source-backed financial research with the place where analysts already ask questions, compare companies and draft investment notes. The goal is not to replace financial analysis, but to make the research workflow faster, more accessible and easier to verify.
Connect Clarifo directly from the Claude Connectors Directory. Sign in to your Clarifo account and start researching listed companies without switching between applications.

How to connect Clarifo to Claude
Clarifo uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows Claude to access external tools and data sources during a conversation. Once connected, Claude can call Clarifo's financial research tools when your question requires company information.
You can set up the connection in three steps:
Open the connector. Visit Clarifo in the Claude Connectors Directory and select the option to connect.
Authenticate with Clarifo. Follow the authorization flow and sign in to your Clarifo account. Access to individual capabilities depends on your subscription.
Start a financial research conversation. Ask Claude to retrieve a company's financial statements, compare peers or search public filings using Clarifo.
You can also configure the connection manually through Claude's connector settings. Add a custom web connector with the following MCP server URL:
https://mcp.clarifo.com/mcp
Clarifo uses OAuth authentication. See the official Clarifo MCP documentation for connection instructions and supported capabilities.
Start with a focused company research task
The most effective way to use Clarifo in Claude is to begin with a specific financial question. Identify the company, reporting period and information you need before asking Claude to retrieve data.
For example, instead of asking Claude to analyze an entire industry immediately, begin with a single company's financial development or a comparison between two competitors.
Using Clarifo in Claude, ask: "Compare NVIDIA and AMD revenue, gross margin and operating cash flow over the last four fiscal quarters. Show the figures in a table and identify the original filing sources."
Clarifo provides access to financial statements, key metrics and searchable filings across Nordic and US listed companies. Claude can use the retrieved information to structure the answer, highlight reported changes and identify areas requiring further investigation.
For the first pass, keep the task factual. Request reported figures, reporting periods and source references before asking for an interpretation.
Use Claude to compare companies, not just retrieve numbers
Financial analysis becomes more valuable when company data is placed in context. A single revenue growth figure is rarely enough to explain operating performance. Comparing peers can help reveal differences in profitability, cash conversion, capital intensity and business models.
With Clarifo connected, Claude can retrieve financial information for multiple companies and help organize it into a comparable structure.
Consider three practical research questions:
Nordic peer comparison: "Compare Nokia and Ericsson revenue growth, operating margins and free cash flow over the last three fiscal years. Include source references."
US technology companies: "Compare Microsoft and Alphabet operating cash flow, capital expenditure and free cash flow over the last five fiscal years."
Financial reporting analysis: "Find lease-related disclosures in the latest annual reports of selected Nordic industrial companies and explain the differences in their IFRS 16 reporting."
These questions move beyond simple data retrieval. They use Clarifo as the financial research source while Claude helps structure comparisons and interpret the results.
When comparing companies, ask Claude to distinguish between reported metrics, calculated figures and analytical conclusions. Differences in fiscal year-ends, accounting definitions and business models can affect how meaningful a comparison is.
Turn financial research into an investment memo
One of the most practical uses of the Clarifo Claude Connector is turning retrieved information into a working research document.
Once Claude has gathered the relevant financial figures and filings, you can ask it to organize the material into an investment memo, earnings briefing or peer comparison.
Three workflows are particularly useful:
Earnings briefing. Retrieve the latest quarterly or annual report, identify material financial changes and prepare a short briefing with references to the underlying disclosures.
Peer benchmarking. Compare companies using consistent financial metrics, highlight differences and identify which findings require additional investigation.
Investment research memo. Combine company financials, management commentary and risk disclosures into a structured draft that separates factual evidence from interpretation.
For example, you can ask Claude to summarize a company's latest annual report, compare its cash flow trends with two competitors and produce an initial investment research note.
Because the research and writing remain in one conversation, you can refine the output with follow-up questions rather than repeatedly exporting data into separate tools.
Keep financial analysis connected to its sources
The most important discipline in AI-assisted financial research is maintaining traceability.
Clarifo is designed to connect financial figures and filing-based findings to their underlying source material. Its research tools cover financial statements, filing search and company comparisons, with references that can be used to inspect the original documents.
This matters because a well-written AI response is not necessarily an accurate financial analysis. A reported figure may be correct but interpreted incorrectly, taken from the wrong period or compared with a metric that uses a different definition.
Ask Claude for the reported facts first, then request the interpretation. Keep the source trail visible throughout the analysis.
When reviewing a material finding, check the reporting period, metric definition and original filing reference. Treat Claude's conclusions as analytical output to verify rather than as a replacement for financial due diligence.
Make Claude part of your financial research workflow
The value of the Clarifo Claude integration is not simply that it makes financial information easier to retrieve. It allows financial research, company comparisons and drafting to take place within a single conversational workflow.
Analysts can move from a company question to reported financial data, from financial data to a peer comparison, and from that comparison to a structured working memo.
Clarifo provides the financial research infrastructure. Claude provides a flexible interface for exploring the data, asking follow-up questions and turning findings into useful written analysis.
